Paris

What can I say about Paris? It still is a magical place.

We decided to drive into the city on Thursday morning, hoping it won't be too busy with it being a holiday.
Was pretty cool driving to the GPS directions and suddenly look at the Arc de Triomphe.

Everyone was getting ready for the VE Parade and there was police everywhere blocking off roads. We parked and went for a quick walk along the Champs Elysees and bought some postcards.

Next stop was the Eiffel Tower. Found a random free car park pretty much under the Tower next to the Seine. Planned to go up, but after only advancing about 10m after a half hour in the queue (and another 200m to go), we decided to give it a miss. We figured we would be back here again someday. We went for a quick walk around the gardens. By then we were cold and hungry, so we went back to the car.

Next stop was the Notre Dame. There was a bread festival on, so we parked the car and went to look for some bread. Found the freshest, yummiest baguettes ever!!!

Had a quick walk around the Notre Dame while eating our baguettes and then headed home.

It was a great day in Paris, but so different from the 3 other times I was there. What a pleasure seeing everything through the eyes of our children.
