The 40 hour trip to Europe

I still can't believe how well the trip over went.

We left home at 4:30 in the morning, had an easy check-in of 9 bags and then sat down for breakfast before flying. Said our goodbyes and cruised through our first flight to Sydney.

We had about 6 hours to kill in Sydney, so we stored some of our hand luggage and took the train ( a cool double decker train ) to Circular Quay. It was a beautiful day and we just enjoyed the sunshine. Had some ice creams and headed back to the airport.

Next was our 14 hour flight to Abu Dhabi. That went much better than expected. Had lots of food, watched lots of movies and the  boys had plenty of sleep. When we got to Abu Dhabi at midnight, they were ready to play. Found a couple of boys in a play ground that could speak some English. They played firemen with them....putting fires out, rescueing kittens from trees and much, much more.

We then only had our 7 hour flight to go. I managed to get some sleep then. Got to Paris, collect all 9 bags and got a shuttle to car.
The friendly Citroen lady helped us put the address of our accommodation into our GPS.
Driving on the wrong side of the road, in a different car, in Paris after a long flight went really well!!

Got to our 2 bedroom Eurocamp accommodation at 10:00 and was met by some very friendly staff.

Let the adventure begin!!!

  1. If you're in Paris for any length of time make sure to visit the Catacombs. They are a total fascination. Ask for directions. It's a very non-de script entrance, easily missed.
Cheers and enjoy. We loved Paris, especially the Foi Gras on my steak while sitting eating outside on the Champs Elysees. Larry
