Wine, wine and more wine

After visiting Alba we went for a drive around the region. There where just vineyard upon vineyard.

We stopped at a vineyard up on a hill. The plan was to taste some wine, but it seemed too hard, so we just had a look around.

When we got to the town of Barolo there was pink stuff everywhere. Thought there must've been a wedding on something.

After driving around Barolo for a while we found a vineyard with some wine tasting. The lady could speak a bit of English and was very generous with her samples.

It was then that we realised that all the pink was for the Giro d'Italia that went through the town last week.

The next stop was Barbaresco, which happened to be the start of the stage to Barolo.

This was the Tourist Information Office / wine tasting room for the town.

Found myself a nice pink Barbaresco T-shirt, which I put on straight away to fit in with the town.

Then had a scenic drive back through even more vineyards.

A great day out in the area that produces Italy's best red wine.
