Cider Farm and Cleeve Abbey

The plan was to go to Dunster Castle, but we got a little bit distracted on the way. We stopped at a Cider Farm first. The boys enjoyed looking at the chickens, pigs and goats. They also spend ages playing on the tractor. We went to taste some cider. It was not nice at all. We didn't buy any.

Next we went to Cleeve Abbey. The plan was to only pop in for a few minutes to have a quick look around.
But the boys found some stamps, with which they created some nice pictures. Matt found some monk robes.

After that the boys went to explore the abbey ruins. We enjoyed the sunshine.

Some more people turned up and the boys decided to show them around. They then spent ages talking to this man. They learned that the monks use to get up at 2:00 am and only went to bed at 9:00pm!!

While they were otherwise engaged I went to look at the tiled floors.

The quick stop ended up being almost 2 hours.

On the way home (Pinewoods) we then had a quick stop at the beach close to Blue Anchor. It wasn't very busy. The boys went for a play in the mud.
