Tour de France Fan Park and Buckingham Palace

After our visit to Madame Tussauds we decided to go and have a look at the Tour de France Fan Park in Green Park. It was a good decision.

In the Ibis tent we got some free drinks and food. We had massages and the boys got their faces painted.

Their faces matched their outfits quite well...

We did some fun green screen photos.

Then we went to relax and watch some cycling.

They shot some T-shirts out with a canon. Matt and the boys fought off lots of other people to get a lucky shirt, which entitled them to a new backpack filled with a few goodies. They needed a break in
the shade after that.

After that we went to have a look at Buckingham Palace.

Th boys found some nice golden gates to climb.

We then went back to the Fan Park for more free beer and to watch some cycling ...

The boys played this games many, many times.

Finally, at about 5:00, everyone who won Tshirts earlier on had the chance to win even bigger prizes. Ryan felt that Alex would be better at doing all the excercises they had to do, so he handed his shirt to Alex.
The group ended up doing full-on excercises for about 15 minutes, with someone walking around judging who did the best job. Alex was trying his hardest. The 3rd prize was a gym membership, 2nd prize a health assessment and the 1st prize a bike. When Alex didn't win, Ryan was so upset, he started bawling his eyes out. Alex was so tired he could hardly stand up. He was crying too...so upset that he pushed himself to far for 'no reason'.

I went to the organizers and asked if they could maybe give Alex a little prize for trying. They apologized that he didn't win anything, but said that they were only allowed to give the prizes to adults. (It would've been nice if they said that at the start....) They then found some special cycling shirts for the boys. We had 2 happy boys again.

Had a last drink and then started on our way home...underground, overground and bus

Check out the tear smudges.

Another busy, action-filled day in London.
